Gil is a PhD student at the Department of Political Science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Gil holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication & Journalism and Political Science (magna cum laude), and a Master's degree in Political Science, both from the Hebrew University. Her M.A thesis explored the tension between center and periphery in Israel, focusing on the welfare policies enacted by local governments and the connection between geographic location and state-funded welfare services.
Gil's doctoral research deals with questions regarding equality and quality of life in cities and other types of settlements throughout the world. Using a comparative framework, the study explores the perception of welfare by residents of different types of locales, analyzing the relationship between these perceptions and the policies applied by local and national governments.
